How NOT to remodel your kitchen..

PS. We really did remodel our kitchen a while back and it looked really cute until friday. So it's Friday afternoon and I had just finished a stressful grocery shopping trip for our camping trip that we were about to leave on that evening. I don't know why I was stressed... I just was. I met Jamie at the house with plans to hurry and pack up so we could head up the mountain ASAP. Luckily he walked in before I did. I just heard "pitter- patter" noises and thought Sammy had somehow snuck into the house... Then we saw the huge puddle of water on the floor and a big dark puddle hanging in the light fixture. Perhaps the best part of the night was watching that nasty puddle fall right on Jamie as he was trying to figure out how to empty it. Hahaha! Good times! Jamie went up into the attic to see if he could find the leak and right after he got done telling me and roo to not stand under it the ceiling collapsed! It was so scary! I thought Jamie had fallen through but he hadn't :) breaking your back twice sure would suck.... Until the ceiling collapsed I had actually considered trying to clean everything up ourselves ( which would have been very unwise especially with how wet everything got) but soon realized I needed to call chelsie's dad. We spent all day Saturday cleaning up all the dust and trying to make our house semi livable. It would be fine if it wasn't 100+ degrees outside and we didn't have a massive hole in our ceiling letting a ton of hot air... Yuck! I also hurt my back moving furniture but I the bright side I got a massage at massage envy and saw the chiropractor all in one weekend! Now for the fun part... We get to wait for the insurance company so we can get it fixed. Guess we won't be putting our house up for sale as soon as we thought. Let the good times roll! Lol

Show low- named by the turn of a card..

Ok people, here's the scoop... I work almost every Friday and Saturday. You may be wondering right about now, "but Krissy, how does this affect your camping life?" Well people, I'll tell you. It severely puts a damper on things. But last weekend we were able to make a trip up to the cabin in show low. It was beautiful! I've always been a payson/heber gal but I'm growing to like show low. I don't really consider staying in a cabin "camping" but it was nice to get out of the city. It sure is pretty convenient though with roo. She had a blast and we let her get out of her carseat on the dirt roads and she LOVED it. We were sad to leave but it only made me want to go REAL camping even more. As Roo's breathing gets better I think I will be more comfortable taking camping trips in our favorite back road spots. To be honest I don't know if I would have been brave enough to go camping this summer even if I had the weekends free. Ya see, I need to know that if we had to call 911 they would be able to get to roo with in 5 min. This is a normal train of thought when your baby has stridor all the time. But her breathing is getting better so let the camping trips begin! Next summer will be a BLAST! Picture overload...

Home alone

Just got home from work and I am home alone! Weird. So this is what it feels like... Jamie is camping with the scouts and doing the box canyon hike tomorrow (why, I'm not bitter at all that he always takes the scouts places that we used to go do but can't find the time now... Ok maybe a little bitter) And the pooster (cuz she poos and it rhymes with roo) is spending the night at her Grammies house since I'll be clockin in another 13 hrs tomorrow. So I thought this picture is very appropriate for my feelings right now...

And here's a picture of the little goober...

And a pic of my lovies cuz I miss them and night time is not a fun time to be alone. If it was day time I could be so productive...

And just for fun.... :) hehe

6 Months:)

Roo turned 6 months yesterday! Hurray! You may be wondering why I'm excited that she's growing up but I've been waiting for 6 months to come for a long time. Ya see, the ENT dr said that with laryngomalacia babies their breathing can get worse up to 6 months before the cartilage starts to get stronger. In other words her stridor should only improve from here :) It already has improved a lot but I'm not a very patient person and I would like it to be gone. Like now. So here's to hoping she continues to grow out of this "horribly scary for anyone i don't care who you are"
condition. CHEERS!

Flagstaff Extreme Fail.

A couple weeks ago Jamie and I took my sis Kelli and her friend up to flagstaff for the day so we could do flagstaff extreme. Let's just say you know you're from AZ when you plan all of your activities without any regard to the possibility that it could be raining... HELLO! It's july, monsoon season! So we get up there, pay, see the course, get harnessed up and that's when we hear the thunder and the guy tells us to take off our harnesses :( Long story short we started the drive back to Phoenix with plans to go to castles and coasters. Get there only to find out it doesn't open till 6. After we were able to set aside our severe depression we ended up seeing batman 5 minutes away from my parents house. So in case you were wondering... we drove almost 7 hours to see a movie 5 minutes down the road. Epic fail!

Unstalkable :)

I apologize for being unstalkable (yes I did just make up that word) for the last few months but let me introduce you to this little ball of fire...

I know she looks sweet and innocent now but her nickname on the streets (aka Grammie's house) is baby bobcat because she squirms so much while you're trying to hold her. She is 6 months going on 16 years :P And she is way too big for naps anymore... Oh wait she's always been too big for naps. But ya gotta admire the girl... She's got spunk and always keeps me guessing. How boring would routines be anyway?! Drinking from her bottle makes her sleepy so she likes to karate chop at it and scream at it if she's not in the mood for a nap (I assume this is what it would be like trying to feed a baby bobcat as well... Hence the nickname) Eating solids depends on her mood too (im noticing a pattern here so hopefully shes not moody when she grows up lol) she LOVEs avocados and eats pretty much anything if the timing is right. Snuggling is out of the question, she gave that up around 3 months so you have to be pretty sneaky about getting in snuggles. She loves going new places and MUST be able to see everything going on around her. She can scoot with the best of 'em, is trying desperately to crawl, and already thinks she can run. Oh wait, did I mention she doesn't like to be put down? How's a girl supposed to see EVERYTHING that's going on if she's stuck on the ground?? She's becoming more tolerant of playing on the ground now since she can wiggle herself to where she wants to be. We love our blue-eyed firecracker cuz when she flashes her little smile with her 2 bottom teefers stickin out she wraps us around her tiny little finger again and again. :)

Ps. She LOVES being outside and we will be taking her to FLAGSTAFF EXTREME once she's tall enough to go on the kids course. Until then, we will be doing the 4 hr adult course in 2 weeks if anyone would like to join us :) (those afraid of heights need not apply) Look it up! You WILL NOT be disappointed!
